The eLearning portion of the PADI Open Water Diver course allows students to complete the theory component online at their own pace before entering the water. Through PADI eLearning, students watch videos, review interactive learning modules, and complete knowledge checks and a final exam to build a strong understanding of diving physics, safety procedures, and equipment use.
By finishing the academic portion online, students arrive at the dive centre prepared and confident, allowing more time to focus on practical skills and enjoying their underwater experience
The Theory Review and Pool Sessions of the PADI Open Water Diver course are where your online knowledge comes to life. After completing your eLearning, you’ll meet with your instructor to review key concepts, clarify any questions, and ensure you feel confident before getting in the water.
In the confined water (pool) sessions, you’ll learn and practice essential scuba skills in a safe, controlled environment — including buoyancy control, regulator recovery, mask clearing, and other core skills. This step builds comfort, confidence, and competence before progressing to your open water dives.
The Open Water Dives are the final and most exciting part of the PADI Open Water Diver course. Over four dives in the ocean, you’ll apply everything you learned during your e-Learning and pool sessions in real diving conditions, under the close supervision of your instructor.
You’ll demonstrate key skills, practice safe dive techniques, and explore the underwater world while gaining confidence and experience. Once completed, you’ll earn your PADI Open Water Diver certification — your passport to dive anywhere in the world.
